As We Liked It

July 11 - We're enjoying a lazy Sunday morning here in KW.  Wilma has gone for a walk, Anna is walking around taking pictures of things around the house (we're staying with Ken and Lynn Bergsma Friesen) and Luke is just waking up/eating breakfast.  Later this morning/early afternoon we will drive out to St. Jacob's and see some of the scenery, including the horse and buggy driving Mennonites in this area.
Last night we drove out to Stratford, had a wonderful dinner and went to see "As You Like It".  It was a great production, updated just enough (1930's) to make it interesting (Nazi references sure make for easy bad guys) and Luke and Anna both enjoyed the play very much.  We had tried listening to a production in the car driving down here, but found it quite difficult to follow.  However the staged production was easy to follow (for the most part) and great fun to watch.  What a treat. Tomorrow we explore Toronto and then off to Niagra/St. Catherine's area.  Laat gaan Nederland!

Am enjoying the colorful updates and look for them every day. Was hoping to be able to treat you to a cup of coffee and pastry in the market in Ottawa tomorrow the 13th. As you are off to Niagara, I'll likely miss you by a day or two.

Your idea of staging a publicity stunt by exploring the upper portion of the falls in 4 barrels strikes me as
ill advised. Yes, -the barrels are constructed by expert Menonite craftsmen from the choicest woods but in this particular case I think nature ought not to be trifled with.

The MacBook could certainly take it. And Cairo too if he was along for the ride...

You guys? Not so sure -

The barrels down the falls sounds exciting - bet it was Anna's idea.

What's your diesel fuel usage been up to now? 2 L/100km if Luke pushes? 10 L/100km if John drives...

I can well imagine that the Shakespeare is not great as audio-only. Go back to the Quaker church service mp3.

Lori and the kids are planning their time in KW & Niagara area. I'm working on working.

Hello all

I am reading all your story,s. Really cool to across Canada. What a difference with the Netherlands. We across the Netherlands in less than three hours. But the Netherlands were almost worldchampion. But spain was just a little bitt better. It´s unbelievable.

I was missing Kairo in the story. But you left him home. He was welcome in the Netherlands.

Enjoy your trip and take care.

Love reading your blog! Good to see you are having such a great time. Laat gaan Nederland is a direct translation. Hup Holland! would work although it is, sadly, too late. We are in mourning...
